GLOWWA began when our founder, nutritional therapist Suzanne, couldn’t find a hair supplement she truly believed in. After seeing changes in her own hair during a high-stress period, she did what she decided to build a better solution. Using food-form vitamins and bioactive nutrients, Suzanne spent two years creating a formula designed to support the body from within, without fillers, shortcuts, or compromises—our award-winning HAIR FOOD.

Based on feedback from male customers, she then decided to formulate a blend specifically for men. HAIR FOOD MENS contains additional bioactive ingredients including saw palmetto, pumpkin seed extract, and lycopene (from tomato peel extract), which are clinically proven to help reduce the activity of DHT—a hormone linked to male pattern hair loss. DHT can bind to sensitive hair follicles and gradually shrink them, causing each new hair to grow finer and shorter over time. The formula also includes myo-inositol, which helps support healthy hair follicle function and male hormone balance, alongside targeted nutrients from our original HAIR FOOD formula such as zinc, vitamin D3, biotin, and MSM to support follicle health and keratin production, helping maintain stronger, healthier-looking hair.

MALE HAIR LOSS

Hair loss in men is often the result of multiple underlying factors that go beyond genetics. Hormonal imbalances (particularly increased levels of DHT), inflammation (which damages hair follicles, (stress, which disrupts hair growth cycles and raises cortisol), nutrient deficiencies (which impact scalp and follicle function, and digestive health (which impacts nutrient absorption) all play a role. The male body naturally produces testosterone as well as an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase, which converts some of that testosterone into DHT (dihydrotestosterone). This travels to the scalp and affects hair follicles. Some men genetically produce more 5-alpha reductase, but it’s also triggered by elevated stress levels, and diets high in sugar, saturated fats, and processed foods. Elevated DHT causes hair follicles to shrink (especially around the hairline and crown), and means that hair grows back thinner, shorter, and weaker—eventually, the follicle stops producing visible hair which leads to visible hair thinning with age.

In addition to our signature HAIR FOOD formula, HAIR FOOD MENS is boosted with additional bioactive ingredients that are clinically proven to reduce the activity of DHT and 5- alpha reductase.
